Arsenal are reportedly close to securing the signing of Sven Mislintat as the club’s new head of recruitment.

According to media reports, Mislintat is set to replace current Gunners chief scout Steve Rowley, who is believed to be leaving the North London club at the end of season after 35 years of meritorious service.

According to popular German media outlet Sport Bild, the English FA Cup champions will pay Borussia Dortmund about £1.8million to prise the 45-year-old super scout from the club since his contract at the Signa Iduna Park does not expire until 2021.

Mislintat, known as ‘Diamond Eye’, has been at the club since 2007 and he is responsible for the discovery and signing of Robert Lewandowski from Polish club Lech Poznan and also played an important role in Dortmund luring stars like Shinji Kagawa, Christian Pulisic, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele.
