Angels, Queens, and Amazons Clash for Berth in 2019 Women’s Final

Rivers Angels, Nasarawa Amazons, Delta Queens, and Ibom Angels will battle for a place in the finals of the 2019 Women’s Aiteo Cup on Friday.

This year’s edition has seen the elimination of some of the biggest female football teams in the country; Bayelsa Queens being the latest to join the likes of Robo Queens and Sunshine to exit the competition.

At the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Stadium, two-time finalists Ibom Angels will take on Nasarawa Amazons in a tie that would determine who progresses to the final.

The orange babes beat Confluence Queens with the aid of two goals from Glory Ogbonna and Koku Damilola, while Nasarawa Amazons defeated Edo queens in the quarterfinals.

In the other semifinal game, defending champions Rivers Angels will lock horns against Delta Queens in a bid to retain their crown.

Delta Queens qualified for this showpiece after beating neighbors Bayelsa Queens 3-1 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after regulation time, while Rivers Angels outshone Sunshine Queens by 2  goals to nothing.

Their game will take place in Bayelsa State.

Both matches are scheduled to hold on July 5th, 2019 at 4pm.
