AFCON 2023: Sadiq Misses Super Eagles Training Again

Umar Sadiq sat out training again on Thursday as the Super Eagles intensify preparations ahead of their opening game at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Jose Peseiro’s men will face the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea in their opening Group A fixture at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Sunday.

Sadiq trained separately from his teammates at the Ecole Nationale de la Police on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old was however not involved in training on Thursday.

The Real Sociedad striker is now a major doubt for the clash with Equatorial Guinea.

Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen is now be the only fit striker available for the game against Equatorial Guinea.

Kelechi Iheanacho, who has recovered from a muscular problem will only join the Super Eagles squad on Saturday.
