AFCON 2023: S/Eagles Friendlies Against Burkina Faso, Cape Verde Cancelled, To Now Play Guinea

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will now take on Syli National of Guinea in a friendly game as part of preparations for the AFCON 2023.

The game between the Eagles and Guinea is billed for Monday, 8 January, 2024.

The Eagles were initially billed to play two friendly games with Burkina Faso and Cape Verde before it was called off.

Guinea are in a tricky group at this year’s AFCON as they will face Cameroon, Gambia and champions Senegal.

While the Eagles will take on Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group A.

So far 22 players are already in the Eagles training camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

However, Victor Osimhen is expected to arrive on Thursday morning and William Troost-Ekong will join his colleagues on Thursday night.
