Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze says the team is keen to make history by winning the title at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Jose Peseiro’s side earned a place in the final of the competition following a 4-2 penalty shootout win against South Africa.

The three-time champions will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final on Sunday.

“We are trying to recover and focus on the game on Sunday, the final against the host country. I believe in this team, we have been fighting from the start of the competition, it’s time to bring the trophy back home,” Chukwueze told the Super Eagles media.

“We have talked together as a group, we will keep working hard in training and ensure we will the trophy.”

Nigeria have won the the AFCON title thrice in the past.
