The journey of Rivers Hoopers at the inaugural edition of the Basketball Africa League has officially come to an end, as results of other group games played on Sunday afternoon meant the Nigerian side missed out on progression.

After securing a win in their last group game against GNBC, Rivers Hoopers hopes rested on other teams contending for the second-best loser’s slot, but after Sunday’s games, FAP of Cameroon and Douanes of Senegal took both spots with their superior points difference.

This meant the Nigerian side sat third on the best loser’s standings, falling short of the two spots allocated to the best losers.

While it has been a chastening outing for the KingsMen, they leave Kigali as the first Nigerian side to play at the tournament and set a number of impressive records in the tournament.

One of the notable records set by the KingsMen was Ben Uzoh’s first points in BAL, ensuring they became the first club to score a point in the history of the competition, a record that cannot be erased.
