AFCON 2023: Côte d’Ivoire To Prepare For S/Eagles With Friendly Game Against Sierra Leone

Hosts of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire will take on Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in a friendly game.

The game is billed for Saturday, 6th January 2024 inside the Stade Laurent Pokou.

Two-time AFCON champions Elephant of Côte d’Ivoire are using the game to prepare for their Group A opponents which comprises Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea.

The Ivorians will go into the clash with Sierra Leone on the back of five games unbeaten (three wins and two draws).

They will kickoff the AFCON 2023 tournament against Guinea-Bissau on Saturday, 13 January 2024.

Five days later they will face the Super Eagles and end the group phase fixtures against Equatorial Guinea on January 22.
