Ivory Coast’s Simon Adingra has won the man-of-the-match award in the team’s 2-1 victory over the Super Eagles in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.
Adingra who was included in the Côte D’Ivoire squad for the tournament despite his injury proved it was a worthy decision as he provided the assists.

Nigeria went ahead in the 38th minute. William Troost-Ekong scored from a corner after a deflected aerial ball came around his head. The team captain converted the opportunity and the Super Eagles lead at the end of the first half.
Just above the hour mark, the Elephants won a corner. Franck Kessie headed the ball into the back of the net to level the score.
