Manchester City have extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 15 points after they secured a slim 1-0 win at the St. James Park against hosts Newcastle United in what was a week 20 clash.

In-form Raheem Sterling scored the only goal of the game in the first half to make it 18 successive wins for his Manchester City side.

The goal was Sterling’s 17th goal in all competition and the 200th strike since Pep Guardiola became Citizens manager last summer.

The win takes Manchester City to 58 points meaning that they are now 15 points ahead of rivals and nearest challenger Manchester United (43 points).
