George Weah has been sworn in as the president of Liberia after his inauguration ceremony took place at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia.

The 1995 World Player of the Year won the Liberian General Elections in December after winning both the first and second round.

Weah, who played for European heavyweights like PSG, Monaco, Chelsea and AC Milan, was a Senator before his victory at the Liberian Presidential Polls.

Dignitaries at the inauguration ceremony include the Confederation of African Football (CAF) president, Ahmad Ahmad, NFF President Amaju Pinnick, the immediate past president Sir Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and many more.
