Valencia Close Gap On La Liga Leaders With Betis’ Thrashing

Valencia’s recent renaissance in the Spanish La Liga continued on Sunday after they thrashed their hosts Real Betis 6-3 in their Matchday 8 clash.

Star players like Geoffrey Kondogbia, in-form Simone Zaza and Santi Mina got the goals for Valencia, who nearly squandered a 4-0 lead during the game. Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell started the fightback for the home side and two more goals were scored to put the scoreline at a slim 4-3 but Valencia showed their superiority with two late goals for a 6-3 victory.

The win means Valencia (18 points) have moved into the top two and also close the gap to within four points of league leaders Barcelona while Real Betis (13 points) have fallen from 6th to 9th because of the heavy defeat.
