Trademark Ronaldo Freekick Hands Madrid Successive World Club Cup Titles

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a trademark freekick to give his Real Madrid side a second successive FIFA World Club Cup title courtesy a 1-0 win over Brazilian outfit Gremio in the final match at the Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi.

The Portuguese scored the goal after 53 minutes to help the Los Merengues cap a phenomenal year with another major trophy.

The World Club Cup title was the 5th trophy for Real Madrid in 2017 after the club had won the Spanish La Liga, UEFA Champions League, Spanish Super Cup and the European Super Cup.

Ronaldo’s perforomance earned him the man-of-the-match accolade though he had to settle for the silver ball as he was beaten to the golden ball by club teammate Luka Modric.
