Tombim Abuja Open: Main Draw Action Starts On Friday

The best players on the ITF Pro Circuit will battle for honours in Nigerian capital of Abuja when the main draw action at the Tombim Abuja Open commences on Friday.

32 players from 18 countries, including Nigeria, will battle for ranking points and $25,000 in prize-money when the tournament proper starts.

Top seed Markus Eriksson will play India’s Suraj Prabodh on Court 1 at the Tennis Complex of the National Stadium, Abuja in what would be the Swede’s first match in Nigeria.

Second seed Maximilian Neuchrist of Austria will play Japanese qualifier Kazuma Kawachi, while Dalwinder Singh of India slug it out with France’s Thomas Setodji.

In the doubles event, Nigeria’s no.1 Joseph Imeh and Takanyi Garanganga will battle the duo of Chile’s Diego Fernandez Flores, who Imeh defeated in the qualifiers and Adebola Obasoto.
