Thomas Dennerby Releases List of 23 Players For Clash Against Ivory Coast

Super Falcons Head Coach, Thomas Dennerby, has released a list of 23 players that will face off against Ivory Coast in a friendly encounter set for Abidjan. The encounter is in preparation for the African Women Cup of Nations which will begin on November 17 in Ghana.

The list is not definitive of the coach’s selection for the tournament but it sure will give a clue as to where the Swede’s trust lies.

The players include;

Defenders: Glory Ogbonna (Ibom Angels); Ugochi Emenayo (Nasarawa Amazons); Sarah Nnodim (Nasarawa Amazons); Ngozi Ebere (Barcelona FC, Cyprus); Faith Michael (Pitea IF, Sweden); Onome Ebi (Henan Huisanhang, China); Osinachi Ohale (Vaxjo DFF, Sweden); Josephine Chukwunonye (Asarum AIF, Sweden)

Midfielders: Amarachi Okoronkwo (Nasarawa Amazons); Ngozi Okobi (Eskiltuna UTD, Sweden); Rita Chikwelu (Krstianstand DFF, Sweden); Halimat Ayinde (Asarum AIF, Sweden); Ogonna Chukwudi (Krstianstand DFF, Sweden)

The Falcons have not played in a competitive match since their 6-0 victory over the Gambia in their AWCON Qualifiers. Last week, they played against an amateur boys club from Lagos which ended in a defeat for the eight-time African Champions.
