NPFL Matchday 33 Preview

Another special treat awaits followers of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as we enter Matchday 33.

The race for the title is becoming more intense as just three points separate leaders Plateau United and 2nd-placed MFM FC, while Akwa United and Enyimba FC are trying to make a late push for the title.

MFM FC will hope to put the pressure on Plateau United when they face 7-time champions Enyimba at the Agege Stadium.

Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu received as massive boost as NPFL top scorer Stephen Odey trained with the team on Saturday after reports emerged that he missed the CHAN Eagles 3-1 win against Kano Pillars feeder due to a trip to Sweden.

The Olukoya Boys are currently second and are five points clear of the People’s Elephant.

Elsewhere, Plateau United are guest to Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Pillars coach Ibrahim Musa will look to make adjustments in attack as Junior Lokosa, who has struck a good partnership with Nyima Nwagua will be missing the second of three games after his straight red card against Enyimba.

The Sai Masu Gida are 10th on the log with 44 points from 31 games, while Kennedy Boboye’s Plateau are still leading the pack, having picked 58 points from 32 games.

In Anambra, Ifeanyi Ubah host Nasarawa United, while Sunshine Stars host Akwa United at the Dipo Dina International stadium, Ijebu Ode.
