Team Nigeria Arrive Cameroon For Women’s Africa Handball Championship

Nigeria’s Women’s handball national team have arrived Cameroon, host country of the Africa Women Handball Championships.

Coach Rafiu Salami’s side left the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport aboard Rwanda Air on Friday and arrived Douala on Saturday after a brief stop over in Kigali.

On arrival, the Nigeria delegation led by the Secretary General of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Maigidansanma Mohammed were received by the Consul General of the Nigeria High Commission in Douala Safiu Olukayode Olaniyan and and his wife Medina Olaniyan.

The Consul charged the team to make Nigeria proud, saying Nigerians in Cameroon have been mobilised and are ready to give the women all necessary support to ensure they do well in the championship.

The team have been lodged at the Hotel Mont Febe.

Nigeria have been drawn in Group B and begin their campaign against DR Congo on Tuesday before playing hosts Cameroon on Thursday and Kenya in their last group encounter next Saturday.
