Sunshine Stars Football Club are set to begin preparations for the 2018/19 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League on Friday which will include all members of the technical staff.
In a statement released by the Media Officer of the club, Chris Okunnuwa, 18 players from last season’s roster, five from the Youth Team/Feeders, Rising Stars and a few trialists are expected to assemble for the first sessions under the new coach, Kabiru Dogo.
During the pre-season preparations, the team will interchange between the club’s Caring Heart Training Ground and the Ondo State Sports Complex then they will move to an out-of-state location for closed camping sessions.
The Akure based side will also take part in this year’s Gold Cup Tournament which is billed for Ado Ekiti beginning November 15 and closing November 24 in order to get mentally, physically and technically fit for the coming season. The maiden edition of the Gold Cup Tourney which started in 2013 saw the Owena Waves claim the trophy.
