Serie A Review (Monday): Genoa Heap Further Relegation Misery On Hellas Verona

Hellas Verona have their work cut out in the bid to avoid relegation after they were beaten 3-1 at Genoa in their Italian Serie A Matchday 34 clash on Monday night.

Portuguese star Iuri Medeiros’ first half strike for Genoa was cancelled out by Romulo’s 64th minute penalty before Daniel Bessa and Goran Pandev scored in the last 12 minutes to give the home side the maximum points at stake.

The win was enough to lift Genoa (41 points) above Bologna into 11th spot while Hellas Verona (25 points) are stuck in 19th position and also six points away from safety with just four league games left.
