Rangers Are Winning Everything This Season – Itoya

Rangers International FC forward, Kelvin Itoya who revived the Flying Antelopes’ comeback at the 2018 Aiteo Cup Final to win against Kano Pillars on penalties, has revealed the club’s yearning to win all trophies available in the coming season.

In a chat with busybuddiesng.com, he said: “We have qualified for the [CAF] Confederations Cup, and we want to do well in the league and also the Federation Cup. We are going for all trophies this season and I think we are going to do well.”

The 22-year old who didn’t have much playing time last season is hopeful for his career in the coming season under coach Gbenga Ogunbote, who won his first silverware as a coach with the Enugu based club.

“I take each game as it comes. If you say I didn’t play much that will true, but I think going forward, we [the coach] have sat down and we have talked and I think this season is going to be a better one.”

Itoya hopes that his feat in inspiring rangers to a draw at the Aiteo Cup Final will now give him the opportunity to be a first-team starter and move him from the “super sub” status the club’s fans have placed him.

Enugu Rangers International FC will square up against Lobi Stars of Makurdi in this year’s Super Cup final, a matchup between the league winners and the Federation Cup champions, where both teams will be looking to start the coming season on a winning note.

Lobi Stars were selected as league winners and also Nigeria’s continental representatives after the 2017/2018 League was ended abruptly.

The Super Cup final will take place immediately after the Super Eagles international friendly against the Cranes of Uganda at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, which is set to kickoff by 4 pm.
