NPFL Players To Undergo Coronavirus Test As LMC Seeks To Complete 2019 League Season

Players in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will be tested for coronavirus when the 2019 season resumes.

The decision was taken during the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board meeting held via video conference on Friday.

All players alongside boardroom staff will be tested as the 2019 league season which was halted by the pandemic with 12 matchdays left.

It is projected that an estimate of 1200 will be affected by the tests which will have the backing of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The NFF board endorsed a report of a similar virtual meeting of the League Management Company and NPFL clubs held on Thursday, 23rd April 2020 and at which decisions were taken to conclude the League season post pandemic.
