NPFL: Enyimba, Rangers Share Spoils In Oriental Derby

Holders Enyimba and Rangers battled to a 1-1 draw in a thrilling oriental derby in Aba on Wednesday night.

Chijioke Mbaoma headed Enyimba in front on 12 minutes.

It was Mbaoma’s fifth goal of the campaign for the Aba giants.

Rangers levelled through Kazeem Ogunleye three minutes from time.

Ogunleye disapossed Daniel Daga outside the box and slotted the ball past Ojo Olorunleke.

It was the forward’s fourth goal of the season for the Flying Antelopes.

Rangers came close to winning the game in added time, but Olorunleke produced a superb save to deny Auwalu Nasiru.

In another matchday 15 fixture played on Wednesday, Doma United defeated Heartland 1-0 at the Pantami Township Stadium.

Nelson Abiam scored the decisive goal three minutes before the break.

Seven matchday 15 fixtures will be played on Thursday.
