Doma United’s hopes of climbing to the top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) was dashed following their 3-0 loss at Abia Warriors on Game week 18 on Saturday.

A win for Doma would have seen them temporarily go to first place on the log

Ifeanyi Anaemena gave Abia Warriors the lead in the 43rd minute from the penalty spot before Sunday Megwo made it 2-0 four minutes into the second half.

Then in the 94th minute Adejoh Ojonugwa added the third goal to wrap up the comfortable win.

At the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, Rangers hammered Gombe United 4-1.

Godwin Obaje bagged a brace while Chidiebere Nwobodo and Kenechukwu Agu each got a goal.

In other results, Sunshine Stars and Niger Tornadoes played goalless while Plateau United edged Enyimba 1-0.

Meanwhile, the game between Heartland and Kwara United was postponed.
