Nigeria Move Two Places Up in Latest FIFA Women’s Ranking

Super Falcons Line up

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have two moved places up in the latest FIFA women’s ranking – from 1599 points at the 38th spot to 1643 points putting them on 36th position – while retaining the top spot on the continent.

Nigeria was eliminated from the recently concluded 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France after a failed campaign that saw the nine-time African champions managing just one win in four matches.

They were eventually knocked out by Germany in the Round of 16 after they qualified as one of the four best losers of the group stages.

Meanwhile, the USA retain top spot after winning the World Cup against first-time finalists Netherland, who went up five spots, while Germany, Netherlands, France, England, Sweden, Canada, Australia, North Korea, and Brazil occupy the rest of the top ten spots respectively.

Cameroon, who were knocked out of the tournament by England, are second on the continent with five spots behind Nigeria in the 41st spot, while South Africa (49), Ghana (53), and Ivory Coast (69) occupy the remaining top five spots on the continent respectively.
