Newcastle Equal 28-Year EPL Feat With 4-1 Win Against Chelsea

Newcastle United ended Chelsea’s three-game unbeaten run with a comfortable 4-1 win at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Magpies have gone three consecutive Premier League games unbeaten against Chelsea for the first time since 1995.

The Blues finished the game with 10 men following a red card issued to Reece James.

Alexander Isak gave Newcastle the lead in the 13th minute but Raheem Sterling drew Chelsea level on 23 minutes.

On the hour mark Newcastle went 2-1 up on the hour mark through Lascelles before Joelinton added the third on 61 minutes.

In the 73rd minute James was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

With seven minutes left Anthony Gordon got on the scoresheet to make it 4-1.

Newcastle move up to sixth place on 23 points while Chelsea, on 16 points, are 10th.
