Expected Eagles XI vs. Argentina: Rohr To Make Three Changes And Switch Formation

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is set to make three changes to his starting XI from the team’s last game ahead of the much publicised international friendly clash with Argentina at the Krasnodar Stadium in Krasnodar, Russia on Tuesday evening.

Apart from the changes in personnel, the Franco-German coach will also switch his team’s formation from the customary 4-3-3 to the ‘en vogue’ wing back formation (5-3-2).

Rohr had earlier hinted at a change of goalkeeper at his pre-match press conference. To this effect, Daniel Akpeyi is expected to replace Ikechukwu Ezenwa in goal.

The other two changes will see defender Chidozie Awaziem come in for striker Anthony Nwakaeme while team captain John Mikel Obi takes the place of Oghenekaro Etebo in what is a straight swap in midfield.

Super Eagles XI vs. Argentina (5-3-2): Daniel Akpeyi; Shehu Abdullahi, William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Chidozie Awaziem, Ola Aina; John Ogu, John Mikel Obi, Wilfried Ndidi; Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi
