Neuer Creates New UCL Record In Bayern’s Win Vs Arsenal

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer set a new UEFA Champions League record, after keeping his 58th clean sheet in Wednesday’s game against Arsenal.

A Joshua Kimmich’s second half goal helped Bayern to a hard-fought 1-0 win against the Gunners at the Allianz Arena.

It means Bayern go through 3-2 on aggregate after holding Mikel Arteta’s men to a 2-2 draw at the Emirates in the first leg.

For keeping a clean sheet in his 138th appearance in the competition, Neuer has now surpassed Iker Casillas’ record (57 clean sheets in 177 games).

The two-time Champions League winner will hooe to extend his clean sheets when Bayern face Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

Madrid sealed their place in the last four after defeating champions Manchester City 4-3 on penalties after regulation time ended 1-1.
