NBBF Crisis: FIBA Extends Deadline To February 28

World basketball’s governing body, FIBA, has decided to extend the deadline given to the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) to resolve its crisis internally from November 30, 2017 to February 28, 2018.

This decision was contained in a letter from FIBA to the NBBF as signed by the global body’s secretary general, Patrick Baumann.

FIBA had earlier given the NBBF a November 30 deadline to resolve its post-election crisis or face sanctions in a previous letter on July 26 but that deadline has now been extended till next year.

A 3-man FIBA delegation (Mr. Alphonse Bile, Mr. Lubomir Kotleba, and Mr. Fode Amara Conde) will be sent to Nigeria on a fact-finding mission and thereafter submit its report to the FIBA Executive Committee.
