Nigeria Army team COAS Shooters Babes rebounded from losing on the opening day of the National Division One Handball Championship in Kaduna to record a first win in the tournament with defeat of Anambra Gallant Babes on Friday. 

The Nigeria Army women’s team won 24-20 to consign the team from Anambra to defeat at the Muritala Muhammad Square.

Other games in the women’s category decided on Friday saw favourites Kwara Adorable Angels make it two wins on the bounce with a comfortable 43-31 victory over Confluence Queens.

Benue Queens dispatched Bayelsa Queens 29 -15 while Delta Queens earned a narrow 31-28 win over Mindscope Gladiatrix.

In the men’s category, Kwara Adorable Stars mirrored sister team Kwara Adorable Queens by getting a win of their own on Matchday 2 with a 29-22 defeat of Gateway Pioneers 29-22 while Katsina Desert were 26-20 victors over Mind Scope Gladiators.

Police Machine beat past Plateau Vipers II 24-17, Bayelsa United saw off Kano Pyramids 20-15, Confluence Stars continued in their winning ways with a 27-18 defeat of Yankari Bulls 27-18 while Benue Buffaloes lost to Delta Stars 13-18.
