Moses Simon has been named Nantes Player of the Year for the 2019-20 season.

The Super Eagles winger has been Les Canaries’ standout performer in a campaign that was curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Simon who is on loan at Nantes from LaLiga side Levante scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 30 games in all competitions.

His excellent performances have now been rewarded by the fans who awarded him 40% of the votes in the polling for the award.

It is yet more fantastic news for the player who recently announced the birth of his second child.

Simon who was part of Nigeria’s team that won bronze at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations is set for a busy summer with reports linking him to many of Europe’s leading clubs.

While recent reports in France say Christian Goucurff’s side have activated the five million euros option to make his loan permanent, Simon insists no agreement has been reached.

While Nantes will clearly love to tie down Moses permanently, it remains to be seen if Simon will remain in Ligue 1 next season.
