Roma’s sporting director Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, more commonly known as “Monchi” remains optimistic the capital club will acquire the services of Leicester City’s linchpin Riyad Mahrez.
Monchi told reporters: “Roma is doing everything possible to take the player (Mahrez), but it is true that we are working on other solutions. In the end, everything will be resolved in the will or desire of whether or not Leicester wants to sell the player.”
The capital club recently had a third offer of £31.8m – a club record for the Giallorossi rejected by the Foxes, following previous bids of £20m and £27m.
In the 2015–16 season, Mahrez was the Algerian Footballer of the Year, the PFA Players’ Player of the Year, and a member of the Premier League PFA Team of the Year as he helped Leicester City win the Premier League.
