Isaac Mbenza Joins Huddersfield Town On Loan

Belgium U-21 winger Isaac Mbenza has signed for Premier League outfit Huddersfield Town from Montpellier ahead of the new season.

Mbenza, 22, joins the Terriers on a season-long loan from the French Ligue 1 club with the option of a permanent transfer at the end of the 2018/19 season.

He follows in the footsteps of Huddersfield Town striker Steve Mounie, who moved to the John Smith Stadium from Montpellier in a then club-record deal last summer.

On the club’s latest acquisition, manager David Wagner said: “Isaac is a very exciting player.”

“This is a great deal for Huddersfield Town for a player with such ability and potential. You do not play for Belgium at under-21 level unless you have some outstanding attributes.

“He is a very quick winger with a direct style of play, which is exactly what we were looking for. As you can see from his last season at Montpellier, he has a real eye for goal too.” The German tactician concluded.
