Eko Football under-13 and under-15 sides have reached the South West zonal finals of the 2017 NFF/Zenith Youth Football Development Recruitment and Competition (YDRC).
The competition, which kicked off simultaneously in all 6 geopolitical zones of the nation, is tagged “The Future Super Eagles Tournament” as it is aimed at producing talents that will represent Nigeria in the future.
The ancient city of Kano will host the national final of the Under-13’s and the semi-finals of the under-15’s, while Lagos will host the under-15 national final.
Dates for the national finals is yet to be determined as reverence is been given to sponsors convenience and school calendar.
After the national finals, an invited panel of judges will carry out screening of all teams to pick players that will play in a friendly match against an international under-15 academy and the current “Future Eagles” under-15 team.
Last month, the “Future Eagles” team traveled to Rabat to face their Moroccan counterpart in a two-legged friendly.
