Former Super Eagles Forward Takes Charge At Belgian Club Kortrijk

Former Super Eagles striker Joseph Akpala has been appointed caretaker head coach of Belgian Pro League KV Kortrijk.

Akpala will take temporary charge of the modest side following the dismissal of erstwhile head coach Glen De Boeck.

This is third time Akpala will be taking charge of the De Kerels this season.

The 37-year-old served as interim head coach before the season started.

The Nigerian also took temporary charge of the team early in the season after Edward Still was sacked due to poor performance.

Kortrijk failed to win their opening eight games of the season under Still.

The club currently occupy last position on the Belgian Pro League table

Kortrijk have recorded just two wins from 16 games this season. They are winless in their last six games.
