World football’s governing body, FIFA has sent a message of solace and support to the Football Association of Thailand after the rescue of 12 young footballers.

The footballers and their coach had been trapped in a flooded cave in northern Thailand’s Chang Rai province since June 23 before they were rescued last week.

The message of support was conveyed in a FIFA letter personally signed by the international football body’s president, Gianni Infantino and dated July 5, 2018.

In the letter, Italian-Swiss administrator Infantino, on behalf of the international football community, expressed his deepest his deepest sympathies and support to the families of the players and coach as well as with the people of Thailand.
