Europa League: Boniface Fit To Start Against West Ham — Leverkusen Boss Alonso

Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso says Victor Boniface is in line to start the club’s UEFA Europa League clash against West Ham United.

The Bundesliga leaders will host the Hammers in the first leg at the BayArena on Thursday.

Boniface was sidelined for around three months after sustaining an adductor injury in January.

The 24-year-old returned to action in Die Werkself’s DFB Pokal win against Fortuna Dusseldorf last week.

The Nigeria international also featured as a substitute in the Bundesliga leaders win at Union Berlin last weekend.

Alonso revealed that the striker could feature from the start against the Hammers.

“Adam Hlozek is injured from the weekend. Matej will play in goal. Boniface is fully fit to play, so he could be used from the start tomorrow,” Alonso told a press conference.

Boniface has registered four goals and one assist
