Former Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has said the Blues should concentrate on nurturing players in their squad instead of signing Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has been linked with a move to the former European champions, who are desperate for more firepower upfront.

The Nigeria international has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world.

Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are also reportedly interested in the striker.

Petit stated that Osimhen should not be Chelsea’s priority at the moment

“I don’t think Chelsea need Gyokeres or Osimhen. With Chelsea, there are so many players who are not playing to their level and can do so much more,” Petit told Genting Casino.

He has scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 19 league appearances for the reigning Serie A champions this season.
