Danny Drinkwater Hands Transfer Request To Leicester City Amidst Chelsea Interest

England international Danny Drinkwater has reportedly submitted a transfer request to Leicester City as he tries to force a move away from the King Power Stadium.

27-year-old Drinkwater, who was an integral part of Leicester’s fairy tale title triumph in 2015/2016 season, have been linked to Chelsea all summer and has yet to play this season due of a thigh injury.

Although Leicester City has reiterated that Drinkwater is not for sale, Sky Sports reported that both clubs are in talks over a possible transfer of the Englishman, with Leicester demanding a £40 transfer fee which is way over Chelsea’s £30m valuation.

Drinkwater formed a formidable midfield duo with Ngolo Kante when the Foxes’ shocked the world by winning the Premier League in 2016 and hopes to join his former team mate at Chelsea as the Blues look for Nemanja Matic’s replacement.
