Cricket: NCF Invites 36 To Camp Ahead Of ICC U19 World Cup Qualifiers

The Nigeria Cricket Federation has invited 36 players to the National U19 camp in Abuja in preparation for the 2022 International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 World Cup qualifiers slated for later this year in Nigeria.

The players invited to camp were drawn from the National U17 Cricket Championship which took place in Benin City, Edo State in February.

An NCF statement said the camping exercise will run from 2-8 June 2021.

Nigeria stunned the cricket world when it qualified for its first-ever World Cup tournament at the 2019 edition in South Africa. Beginning their qualification journey in 2018, the unheralded team waltzed through five countries in Division 1 and another five countries in Division 2 to achieve the feat.

The Junior Yellow Greens will look to build on that remarkable feat when they launch an assault for the sole ticket available for the tournament in the qualifiers.
