City Closes Gap On Liverpool With Wolves Win

Gabriel Jesus scored a brace to lead Manchester City to a comfortable 3-0 win over 10-man Wolves on Monday night in the Premier League.

The win at the Etihad keeps Manchester City’s title hopes alive as they are now four points behind league leaders Liverpool in the title race.

City grabbed an early 10th-minute lead when Aymeric Laporte sent Leroy Sane sprinting down the left flank, with the German whipping in a low cross which Jesus turned in with a one-touch finish.

Wolves were reduced to 10 men after Wily Boly was sent off for his tackle on Bernado Silva in the 19th minute.

Jesus continued his hot scoring streak in 2019, dispatching a penalty in the 39th minute after Raheem Sterling was fouled by Ryan Bennett inside the box.

City waited for their third goal till it came in the 78th minute when Kevin De Bryune’s ball into the box bounced off Conor Coady into the far post for an own goal.

The defending Champions would hope to keep up the pace with Liverpool who are ahead with four points as they face Huddersfield in their next league game.
