Tshegofatso John Mabasa’s goal with just one minute of regular time left denied Nigerian representatives Enyimba a well-deserved point at Orlando Pirates in their CAF Confederation Cup Group A clash at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.
Austin Oladapo’s equaliser from the spot just before half time which cancelled out Deon Hotto’s 27th minute appeared to be enough for Enyimba to stay unbeaten and leave the Orlando Stadium with a share of the spoils.
But with time running out, Mabasa arrived with a winner to crush the visitors’ hopes and lift Pirates to the top of the group with four points after two games.
Erstwhile group leaders Enyimba are second with three points gained from the opening day home win against Ahli-Benghazi. The Libyan side are at home to ES Setif in the group’s other game to be played later on Wednesday.
The Fatai Osho-tutored side will next face Algerian giants Entente Setif in a double-header next month.
