Former Kwara United coach, Samson Unuanel says he’s optimistic Rivers United can overcome defending champions, Algeria’s USM Alger in the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Recall that the Algerian side are not just CAF Confederation Cup champions, they also hold the CAF Super Cup after they defeated Al Ahly of Egypt, the winners of the Champions League.

Also, Rivers United came from a goal down against Ghana’s Dreams FC to navigate their way into the Confederation Cup quarterfinals after securing a late 2-1 win.

In a chat with Completesports.com, Unuanel stated that Rivers United must show great character and determination to defeat the reigning champions.
