Liverpool have made a major transfer breakthrough after they agreed a club record £75m deal for Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk.
The Dutch international will join the Merseyside club on January 1 and is expected to wear the no. 4 jersey.

Southampton have also confirmed the huge transfer deal, which represents a record fee for a defender ahead of the transfer that took Kyle Walker from Tottenham to Manchester City.
