African Games 2023: Amusan Aims For Historic Triple Triumph In 100m Hurdles

AIl eyes will be on Tobi Amusan when the 100m hurdles starts today (Tuesday) at the University of Ghana. The petite, 27 -year-old will be keen to successfully defend, for the second time, the title she first won in 2015.

Amusan ran a new 12.68 Games record to successfully defend her 2015 title five
years ago in Rabat and will be looking to become the first sprint hurdle, a second Nigerian woman and the third Nigerian in general to win an African Games track and field event three straight times.

This will be the third time Amusan will be gunning for a hat-trick of 100m hurdles titles in quick succession after she successfully defended her Nigerian Championship title in Benin City last July in Benin City, Nigeria and the Diamond League crown last September in Oregon, USA.
