Organisers of the English topflight, Premier League, has congratulated the quartet of Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina for helping Nigeria reach the semi-finals of AFCON 2023.

In Friday’s quarter-finals, the Super Eagles edged Angola 1-0, thanks to Ademola Lookman’s first half strike.

The Eagles’ win ended Angola’s nine-game unbeaten run.

Iwobi, Onyeka, Bassey and Aina all featured for Jose Peseiro’s side and were impressive in the encounter.

“Nigeria are into the AFCON semi-finals ,” the Premier League wrote on X.

“Congratulations to Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina and Alex Iwobi.”

Up next for the Eagles is a semi-final clash against South Africa or Cape Verde.
