Manchester United’s new signing, Romelu Lukaku, scored his first goal for the club as United fought back from a goal down to defeat Real Salt Lake 2-1 in Los Angeles.
The £75m striker scored the winner in the fiercely contested pre-season friendly, to open his Manchester United goal scoring account after moving to Old Trafford from Everton.

Asked about the striker’s first goal, United Manager, Mourinho, said: “(The goal) is nice for him but not important for me,”
“I told him I love what he does. He assists, he moves. He holds the ball well. I like everything he does.”
However, Mourinho’s men didn’t finish the game without casualties, as Juan Mata limped off the pitch with an ankle injury, while Antonio Valencia was shown a red card for his challenge on Salt Lake’s Sebastian Saucedo.
Up next for United in their pre-season friendlies is “noisy neighbours”, Manchester City in Houston on Friday.
