Nigeria’s U17 women’s team took a decisive step towards qualification for the 2020 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup with a 6-1 whitewash of Guinea in the first leg of the second round of qualifying in Conakry on Saturday.
Yemisi Samuel hit an impressive hat-trick with Rofiat Imuran also notching up a brace in addition to Chinyere Kalu’s early opener.
The result makes the 14 March return leg at the Agege Stadium little more than a formality for acting head coach Bankole Olowookere’s charges.
