CAF Champions League: Anaezemba Confident Of Pillars Passage (AUDIO)

Kano Pillars midfielder Nzube Anaezemba is confident the 4-time Nigerian champions will advance to the next round of the 2019/20 CAF Champions League after their unconvincing first leg, first round 3-2 home win against Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko at the weekend.

Pillars now walk a tight rope after Kotoko scored two away goals at the Sanni Abacha Stadium, and will be eliminated from the competition if the 2-time champions secure a 1-0 win in Kumasi in a fortnight.

But the former Enyimba star says the Ibrahim Musa-tutored side will go for broke in the reverse fixture.

“First and foremost, I will say it is not over until it is over,” the ex-Rivers United player told busybuddiesng.com. “We beat Asante Kotoko 3-2 here in Kano. Going back to Ghana for the second leg, I strongly believe that we are going to scale through.

“We are going to make sure we put our possible best and make sure we win the game, and advance to the next level.”

Pillars, who recently won the Aiteo Cup for the first time in their history, are billed to face Kotoko in the second leg in the weekend of 23rd to 25th  August.
