Bendel Insurance Clash Against Shooting Stars Postponed Due To Food Poisoning

The Nigeria National League has announced the postponement of the week 17 outstanding match which was previously scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 31 between Bendel Insurance and Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan after the Ibadan side laid a complaint of food poisoning to the League.

NNL Media Officer, Amar Ignis made the announcement via WhatsApp stating:

“A new date for the match will be announced in due course. All officials have been duly informed. The week 17 Match was earlier scheduled for Saturday, October 20 but shifted to Sunday 28 and moved again to Wednesday, October 31 before this new development.”

Bendel Insurance, however, have declared their readiness through their media officer, Kehinde Osagie, who stated that their players, as well as the Officials, are brazed up for the encounter.

“Bendel Insurance are ready for the match anytime any day. Our players are in good shape and have no concerns. We appeal to our supporters not to be discouraged by the new development just as we regret any inconvenience this might cause them.”

3SC requested for the postponement when all 22 players in the camp were affected after by the food poisoning which resulted in the team being admitted to Adeoyo General Hospital. According to the Media Officer, Jubril Arowolo, the players were rushed to the hospital at about 11:00 pm on Monday following the incident.
