Two Atlantic Conference Teams Clash In The National Basketball League Division 2 Final

CAMAC of Bayelsa and Brave Hearts of Calabar, two Atlantic Conference teams, will face off later today in the final of the Total Division 2 National Basketball League final billed for the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The National Division 2 League in its first installment, had over 200 teams participating from the 36 states of the federation. The league ends today when unbeaten side, CAMAC slug it out against Brave Hearts for the honor and glory of winning the league’s first edition.

Both teams continue to talk tough with promises of an explosive match-up.

Brave Hearts became the first team to automatically qualify from Division 2 into Division 1 of the Total NBBF organized League after defeating Taraba Hurricanes 72-54 securing their spot in today’s final of the Total Division 2 starting by 2pm.

It was a battle against the odds when CAMAC of Bayelsa faced a younger Prison Reformers team to clinch their final ticket also stretching their unbeaten run in the National finals to 4 games.

When asked if he thinks they can win the tournament, Coach Etogun Kehinde of CAMAC said: “We still stand undefeated and I believe we have what it takes.”

It took the effort of Benedict Onovughakp who contributed 20 points to his team neutralizing John Luka’s 17 points on their way to a memorable 69-66 victory thereby guaranteeing them the 2nd automatic ticket to the elite Total National Division 1.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation President, Musa Kida, will be present to host invited guests which include representatives of sponsors, National Sports Federation President, officials of the Lagos State Sports Commission and friends of the Nigeria Basketball Federation.
