NFF Lauds $2m Advance Fee Initiative From FIFA

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has lauded the decision taken by world football’s governing body FIFA to give the five World Cup-bound African teams a $2m advance fee.

The advance fee method was initiated in the bid to avoid bonus row synonymous with African countries from past World Cup editions.

While speaking about the laudable step taken by FIFA, the body’s spokesman, Ademola Olajire, stated that the availability of this money will help to avert a bonus row at the tournament this summer.

In his words via ThisDay, Olajire said: “We’ve had problems in the past and the NFF has already worked out a payment mode for the team, but this money will help put everything into shape.”

“It will definitely help our players to focus solely on football on the pitch in Russia and not deal with the distraction of when the bonus will arrive.” he concluded.
